VKR Annual General Meeting - Sunday 28th March 2004
The Victorian Kendo Renmei Inc Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 28th March 2004 at 1:00pm at the Kenshikan Dojo, 91 Rosslyn Street, West Melbourne.
All VKR Executive positions will be declared vacant and elections will be held to vote in a new VKR Executive for 2004. The closing date for all nominations will be Sunday the 21st of March 2004.
This year, the elections will be decided by a "show of hand". Proxy votes will not be accepted at this AGM, so it is especially important to attend in person to ensure that you can have your say at this year's VKR AGM.

We've been stunned by the tremendous turn out that we've had for the Beginners Course this week, so we want to find out what's motivated so many people to try kendo at UMKC. Beginners: Take two seconds to vote on UMKC's first online poll!
Nittaidai Visit Friday 12 March - Saturday 13 March
Students from the Nippon Sport Science University (Nittaidai) will be in Melbourne for two exciting events on Friday 12 March and Saturday 13 March!
Goodwill Kendo Keiko A Goodwill Kendo Keiko will be hosted by the Fudoshin Kendo Club on Friday 12 March. Training will commence at 7pm sharp so please be ready at 6:30pm!! The cost of training will be $10. Michael will be our club representative and will be collecting training fees at the door. Click here to view the flyer Martial Arts Demonstration Nittaidai students will also be putting on a Martial Arts Demonstration on Show Court 1, Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre, Aughtie Drive, Albert Park on Saturday 13 March starting at 6:30pm. This will be another truly awesome display of Japanese martial arts performed by a large group of highly skilled martial artisits and Admission is FREE!! The VKR Kendo Grading will be held on Sunday 21st March 2004. This year, the VKR will be trialling a new two part format as follows:
Part 1: 1st Kyu to San Dan Commencing 9:00 AM -Registrations from 8:30am
Part 2: 6th Kyu to 2nd Kyu Commencing 11:00 AM -Registrations from 10:30am
The Kenshikan Dojo will be open from 8:00am - All 6th to 2nd Kyu members are requested to come in via the back door of the dojo.
Grading Fees As in previous years, the Club will be providing a $10 subsidy to all those who are successful in their grading. Hence we will be collecting grading fees of $15 for Kyu, $40 for Dan.
Application Forms Application forms will be available from Andrew at training or can be downloaded from the 'Documents' page or by clicking here: download Grading Form Grading Cards Grading cards must be submitted with all applications. If you have lost your grading card, a replacement card can be issued for an additional fee of $25. For all members who did not receive their grading card after the last grading (ie all 6th Kyu's), don't worry! Your grading cards should be on their way from the VKR soon.
Deadline All applications (complete with form, fee and grading card) must be submitted by the end of training on Wednesday 10th March (ie next Wednesday) so that Yakov Sensei can approve your application. Please take note of this deadline as NO LATE APPLICATIONS CAN BE ACCEPTED!!!
