2nd Monash training @ Monash, Clayton, Wednesday 23rd August
The second of our 'pre-shiai season' Monash-Melbourne University joint trainings has been set for next Wednesday 23rd August. Training runs from 6pm-8pm and is held at the sports centre of the Monash Clayton Campus. There is no training cost. Note that training at UMKC will be held as usual.
The plan is to meet at the Melbourne Uni Sports Centre at 5pm, allocate people to vehicles and drive from there. The drive from Melbourne Uni is approx. 30-40 minutes, traffic permitting. Thus all DRIVERS are encouraged to ferry and passengers are obliged to contribute to petrol costs.
In case of too few drivers, members are encouraged to make alternate arrangements to travel by public transport. Those doing so should meet and leave before 5pm. Train and bus connections can be discussed with Committee members.
An informal dinner will be held afterwards at a local dumpling restaurant. All members are encouraged to attend (especially those with cars!). It will be the last chance before the VKC to practice with outside kendoka as well as a worthwhile chance for AUG team members to gain shiai experience.
Please inform the Committee of your interest to attend; as a driver, passenger, or public transport attendee.
The Victorian Kendo Championship (VKC) is fast approaching, being just two weeks away on Sunday 27th August.

Please lodge support with the UMKC Committee as soon as possible, by email or at training.

Kendoka who have started this year may not compete. However, the VKC will require volunteers from both the juniors and any other individuals not competing to assist in timekeeping, scorekeeping, ticket selling and other important duties.
