Volunteers are required for a short kendo demonstration, which will be held in the Treasury Gardens. If you are able to help, please reply to the committee by email.

Orientation Weeks, Thursday (12-4pm) 26/2/09 and Wednesday (11-3pm) 4/3/09
Volunteers are required to man the kendo table on both days. The kendo table will be on the North Court (under the sails) on the Thursday, and on the Concrete Lawn (between Union and Architecture) on Wednesday. There will be no demonstration on the Thursday, but there will be a short demonstration on the Wednesday. Volunteers will be required to learn some simple facts about the beginner's course, basic kendo, etc, and must present a positive image (no mucking about). If you are able to help, please reply to the committee by email.

Gradings, Saturday 7/3/09 (6th-2nd Kyu) and Sunday 29/3/09 (1st Kyu - 3rd Dan)
Grading forms are now due. Please fill in the grading form attached to the email sent around, or collect it from training, and hand it in along with the grading fee to the committee by Friday, February 20th (you may email your details should you be overseas at this date). Forms for both gradings are due on the 20th of February. An example has been attached for your reference. As usual, the club will subsidize a third of all Kyu grading fees, and half of all Dan grading fees. For the majority of you, this means you pay $20 and the club pays the other $10.

Beginners Course, Monday 9/3/09
The new Beginners course will commence on this date and last 5+ weeks. Some help will be needed on the day with setting up, handing out shinai, registrations, so please assist the committee where possible.
