of Otsuka, Kendo Ball, and VKC
I am pleased to update and inform everyone of the following upcoming and very interesting events:

1. The Otsuka Memorial Taikai which is a competition held to commemorate the founding of the Kenshikan Dojo is set for Sunday, 19 July. All kendoka are welcomed to participate and if you are interested in doing so, simply present yourself at the Melbourne Budokai for registrations at 11am. It is understood at this stage that team formations and the draw will be determined on the day itself. At the end of the event, a dinner and movie will be organized at a small fee to cover catering costs for participants.

2. As everyone should already know by now, a kendo ball - Australia and possibly the world's first - will be held on Friday, 7 August. Details should have already been sent out but just as a recap, I have attached the flyer to this email for your reference. If you are interested in participating, just fill up the form prepared beside the coinbox during training. We will confirm and inform members of the deadline for registration as soon as possible. Also, it will be good if you can organize yourselves into groups of 10 but if not, either the Ball committee or us will do it for you.

3. Lastly, the Victorian Kendo Championships will be held on the 15-16 August weekend. Members can register their interest by filling up a form to be prepared and set out beside the coinbox during training. The deadline for registration will be Monday, 3 August.

Should there be any queries, feel free to let the committee know.

Kind regards,
Kin-On Tham
