AUG2012 Success

Hi All,


We are happy to report that Melbourne Uni and MUKEN are the overall champions of the 2012 Australian University Games in Kendo.

MUKEN results:
 Kyu Individuals - 1st, Takeshi Hartono
 Dan Individuals - 3rd, Viet Hoang
Kyu Teams - 2nd
 Open Teams - 1st
Green and Gold - Takeshi Hartono

Overall - 1st

Our results have vindicated the hard work that the team and the club have put in the recent months.

A big thanks to all the team for the commitment and efforts, and to Sensei, Andrew, and Kenji for their coaching and instruction.

1st Kyu and Dan Gradings on the 30th Sept
A reminder that grading forms and payments for 1st Kyu and Dan gradings are tomorrow, Monday 17th.

Regarding the subsidy - applicants for 1st kyu need only pay $20. Applicants for dan gradings will have half the fee subsidised.

If you are unable to send in your form in person, please send a scanned copy instead.

URGENT: September Gradings
We have just received notification from the VKR about the upcoming gradings in September.
*****The KYU Gradings are next Sunday.*****
DETAILS
Kyu Grading (6kyu-2kyu)
Date: 9th September (Sunday)
Time: 1pm-4pm
Location: Kenshikan Dojo, 91, Rosslyn Street, West Melbourne, Victoria 3003

Dan Grading (1kyu-3dan)
Date: 30th September (Sunday)
Time: 1pm-4pm
Location: Kenshikan Dojo, 91, Rosslyn Street, West Melbourne, Victoria 3003
We are now collecting applications for both gradings. Please print off and complete the grading form sent to your inboxes, making sure to complete ALL relevant fields (including your date of birth and age - failure to complete these fields will mean you will not be able to grade).
For many of you this will be your first grading. You will be attempting 6th Kyu. I have included an example to assist you with completing the form.
Please note that your ability to grade is subject to Sensei's approval.
It is important that you attend training this week to practise the grading routine.
FEES
The grading fee for all Kyu Gradings is $35. However, we will be subsiding a portion of your fee - you will only need to pay us $20.
The grading fee for Dan Gradings will vary - please confirm with us.
DEADLINES
The deadline for KYU grading forms and payments is this Thursday 6th of September. Please submit your forms and pay the cash box at training.
The deadline for DAN grading forms and payments is Monday 17th of September.
Please let me know if you are unable to submit your form.
