This past weekend, over 50 female kendo practitioners of all levels from around Australia came together in Melbourne for the 3rd Oceania Women's Kendo Seminar and Taikai. Following the success of the event last held in Sydney, Kanzaki Satoko Sensei (7th Dan) and Abe Tokiko Sensei (7th Dan) agreed to return to conduct another seminar.

| Shinpan training session |
A number of MUKEN ladies attended a long and grueling seminar held over two days, extensively covering topics ranging from basics to shinpan training. This culminated in a taikai held on the Sunday afternoon that saw some nice spirited kendo being demonstrated by all participants. Ultimately, it was Yuko Tanaka from ACT who won the Dan division, and Eugene Ko from NSW winning the Kyu division. Meera Chandrananth was among the three who picked up a Fighting Spirit award (again!).
This was another successful event, with everyone coming out exhausted but satisfied from learning much more. Many friends were made from different places, with the experience giving each MUKEN member determination to continue this spirit in their club training.
